Tap the + button and choose Build from Photos. Select the photos from a trip and Pins & Places reads their date and location, groups them into the places you stopped, and lays them out as a day-by-day map — automatically.

That means those photos have no GPS location saved in them (common with screenshots, downloaded images, or photos taken with location turned off). Pins & Places will still build the trip, grouped by day — just drop each stop on the map yourself in the editor. To keep location in your photos, enable Settings → Camera → … Location and allow the app full Photos access.

No. Everything — including the AI that names places — runs on your device. Nothing is uploaded. See our Privacy Policy.

You can share a journey as a file, a story card, or a short recap video. The content goes only where you send it through the iOS share sheet.

No. Pins & Places is a one-time purchase — buy once, yours forever. No ads, no subscriptions.

Sign in with the same Apple ID you bought the app with and reinstall it from the App Store. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID.
