Privacy Policy

What we collect

Nothing. Pins & Places has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We do not operate servers that receive your data.

Your photos and locations

To build a trip, the app reads the photos you choose and the date and GPS location stored inside them. This happens entirely on your iPhone. Your photos and the trips you create are saved only in the app's local storage on your device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.

On-device AI

Place names and captions are written by Apple's on-device intelligence. The model runs locally on your iPhone — your photos and their contents are never sent to a cloud service for this.

Sharing a journey

If you choose to share a journey as a file, a story card, or a recap video, that content is handed to the system share sheet and goes only where you send it (for example, Messages, AirDrop, or the social app you pick). We are not involved in that transfer and never receive a copy.

Permissions

• Photos — to import the pictures you select and read their date and location.
• Location (optional) — only if you use the live guided-walk feature, to show your position on the map. It is not recorded or sent anywhere.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
